NHL NEWS DEC 14 – The Hurricanes, Predators, Sabres and Sharks all rallied from multi-goal deficits en route to victory last night.

Down 5-2 after two periods, the Hurricanes scored six times in the final frame – including five straight goals and three within a span of 1:42 – to rally past the Canucks for their seventh consecutive home win.

Down 3-0 in the second period, the Predators stormed back with six unanswered goals – powered by multi-point efforts from Mike Fisher (2-0—2), Ryan Johansen (1-1—2), Viktor Arvidsson (0-2—2) and Colin Wilson (0-2—2) – to improve to 10-2-2 at Bridgestone Arena this season.

The Sabres scored four straight goals – including tallies 12 seconds apart by Jack Eichel (2-1—3) and Brian Gionta – to erase a 2-0 deficit in the second period and improve to 14-1-1 in their past 16 home games against the Kings (dating to Dec. 17, 1993; LAK: 1-12-3). Eichel has collected 5-3—8 in seven games since returning to action on Nov. 29 and has 6-8—14 in his past 12 contests dating to last season.

Trailing 2-0 in the third period, Justin Braun and Joe Pavelski scored 2:07 apart to tie the game and set the stage for Logan Couture’s clinching goal in the shootout. The Sharks improved to 12-1-2 in their past 15 meetings with the Maple Leafs dating to Dec. 21, 2002 (TOR: 1-10-4), including seven straight wins in Toronto.
