NHL NEWS JAN 26 – MAPLE LEAFS PUSH FRANCHISE-RECORD ROAD POINT STREAK TO 11 GAMES

Frederik Andersen (22 saves) registered his second straight shutout (also Jan. 23 vs. CGY) and four different skaters scored as the Maple Leafs extended their franchise-record road point streak to 11 games (9-0-2), including four consecutive wins.

At 23-14-9 (55 points), the Maple Leafs leapfrogged the idle Bruins (24-21-6, 54 points) for sole possession of third place in the Atlantic Division. Toronto holds five games in hand.

Andersen registered consecutive shutouts for the first time in his NHL career and improved to 21-10-8 this season (2.55 GAA, .921 SV%, 3 SO).

Auston Matthews opened the scoring and leads all rookies in goals (23) and game-winning goals (5) this season, he is also first Leafs rookie to score five GWG in a season since Steve Thomas in 1985-86.
