NHL NEWS MARCH 22 – Sidney Crosby opened the scoring with a highlight-reel one-handed goal and Nick Bonino tallied the go-ahead marker with 5:29 remaining in regulation to help the Penguins clinch a berth in the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs, their 11th consecutive postseason appearance and 32nd in franchise history.
At 46-17-9 (101 points), the Penguins eclipsed the 100-point mark for the second straight season and third time in the last four campaigns.
Crosby has scored in three consecutive games (6-1—7) and paces the NHL with 41 goals this season (66 GP).
