Sidney Crosby tied the game with 14 seconds remaining in regulation – his League-leading 15th goal of the season (16 GP) – and Kris Letang scored the decisive marker in the shootout as the Penguins improved to 8-2-1 at home in 2016-17.

The Blues surrendered a game-tying goal with 1:08 left in the third period, but David Perron (0-2—2) scored the decisive marker in the shootout as St. Louis extended their home point streak to nine games (7-0-2). Perron stretched his point streak to seven games (2-8—10), equaling his career high from Feb. 7-18, 2012 (6-3—9).

Roberto Luongo made 36 saves through 65 minutes and denied all three shootout attempts to help the Panthers improve to 5-2-0 in their last seven outings. Luongo earned the 444th victory of his NHL career to move within three of tying Terry Sawchuk for fifth place on the all-time list. Jaromir Jagr scored in regulation to pick up his 1,878th career point (752-1,126—1,878), nine behind Mark Messier (694-1,193—1,887) for second all-time.
