BLUES MOVE TO TOP OF LEAGUE STANDINGS
Vladimir Tarasenko and Brayden Schenn each collected 1-2—3 to help the Blues improve to 12-3-1 (25 points) and move past the idle Lightning (11-2-2, 24 points) for the best record in the NHL this season.
LINDGREN IMPROVES TO 5-0-0 IN FIVE CAREER APPEARANCES
Charlie Lindgren made 29 saves to improve to 5-0-0 in five career appearances (1.39 GAA, .955 SV%, 1 SO) and backstop the Canadiens to their third consecutive win.
KINGS RALLY TO IMPROVE TO 11-2-2
The Kings overcame a 3-1 deficit and Nick Shore scored at 3:51 of overtime to help Los Angeles improve to 11-2-2 (24 points) this season. The Kings earned at least 11 wins through their first 15 games of a season for the third time in franchise history (11-3-1 in 1980-81 and 12-3-0 in 2010-11). The Kings lead the NHL with 26 overtime goals since the 3-on-3 format was introduced in 2015-16, six more than the next-closest clubs (CGY and CHI: 20).
JAGR, LUONGO CLIMB ALL-TIME GAMES PLAYED LISTS
Jaromir Jagr made his return to the Flames lineup and passed Gordie Howe for sole possession of second on the NHL’s all-time games played list (regular season and playoffs).
Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo made his 972nd career appearance and passed Terry Sawchuk for sole possession of third on the all-time list among NHL netminders.
