Ottawa Senators Players Fined

Ottawa Senators forward Nick Cousins has been fined $2,148.44, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Montreal Canadiens forward Ivan Demidov during NHL Preseason Game No. 69 in Quebec City on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The incident occurred at 7:22 of the third period. Cousins was assessed a minor penalty for slashing.

Also, Ottawa Senators forward Hayden Hodgson has been fined $2,018.23, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Newhook during NHL Preseason Game No. 69 in Quebec City on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The incident occurred at 16:47 of the second period. Hodgson was assessed a major penalty for boarding.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
