RED WINGS ERUPT FOR EIGHT GOALS TO DEFEAT FLAMES

The Red Wings erupted for eight goals – including four in the first period – to defeat the Flames and improve to 5-2-1 in their last eight contests. Detroit scored eight goals in a game for the first time since Feb. 24, 2013 vs. VAN (8-3 W).

Anthony Mantha (2-1—3), Andreas Athanasiou (2-1—3), Dylan Larkin (1-2—3) and Mike Green (0-3—3) each collected three points. Green ranks tied for first among all defensemen with 16 assists this season (w/Erik Karlsson).
