ROCKET MORTGAGE CLASSIC FINAL FIELD NEARLY SET FOR FIFTH-ANNUAL PGA TOUR EVENT AT DETROIT GOLF CLUB
The majority of the 156-player field for the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic has been finalized. The fifth-annual PGA TOUR event will return to Detroit Golf Club from June 29-July 2 and be broadcast live on Golf Channel and CBS.
The 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic field includes four major champions and 74 PGA TOUR winners, and features 14 of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, including:
- No. 9 – Max Homa
- No. 14 – Tony Finau (2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic winner)
- No. 18 – Justin Thomas
- No. 19 – Collin Morikawa
- No. 21 – Sungae Im
- No. 22 – Tom Kim
- No. 27 – Hideki Matsuyama
- No. 28 – Keegan Bradley
- No. 34 – Harris English
- No. 35 – Rickie Fowler
- No. 36 – Sepp Straka
- No. 38 – Tom Hoge
- No. 40 – Brian Harman
- No. 42 – Chris Kirk
Other notable players include:
- Cameron Champ – Three-time PGA TOUR winner
- Cam Davis – 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic winner
- Luke Donald – Five-time PGA TOUR winner and former World No. 1 has represented Europe in four Ryder Cups and has played every Rocket Mortgage Classic. He is the 2023 European Ryder Cup captain.
- Lucas Glover – Four-time PGA TOUR champion and winner of the 2009 U.S. Open.
- Zach Johnson –2023 U.S. Ryder Cup team captain and winner at the 2007 Masters and 2015 Open Championship.
- Nate Lashley – Wire-to-wire winner of the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic after getting into the 2019 field as the third alternate.
- Webb Simpson – 2012 U.S. Open and 2018 PLAYERS Championship winner
- Brian Stuard – Winner of the 2016 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the Jackson, Michigan native graduated from Napoleon High School in 2001 and played collegiately at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
The final five spots in the Rocket Mortgage Classic field will be awarded to Sunday’s winner of THE JOHN SHIPPEN National Golf Invitational presented by Rocket Mortgage – a 36-hole tournament taking place at Detroit Golf Club – and four Monday qualifiers.
