Saint’s Coffey Ends up 11th in Canada
St. Clair rookie golfer Shannon Coffey (Windsor; FJ Brennan) had a tough on Friday in the final round at the PING CCAA Golf National Championship.
The event was hosted by Cégep André-Laurendeau at the Continental Golf Club in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec.
Coffey shot an 85 in the third and final round. The event was scheduled to be a four round event but the Thursday round was cancelled due to weather and poor course conditions. Shannon ended the Championship in 11th place in Canada with a 3 day total of 250. She was 2 shots out of finishing in the top 10.
Saints head coach Kevin Corriveau was happy with Coffey’s play. “For an 18 year rookie competing for the first time at this level Shannon did very well. I know she learned a lot from this experience that will make her even better and hungrier in her future years at St. Clair. ”
