The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team hosted the Conestoga Condors from Kitchener at the Sportsplex on Sunday afternoon in their final home game of the semester.

The St. Clair women came away with a solid win defeating Conestoga 3-0. The set scores for St. Clair were 25-12, 25-15 and 25-19. Middle Sydney Emerson led the way for St. Clair with 12 kills, 4 service aces, 1 assist and 1 dig. Outside hitter Kaila Crough also had a big game with 9 kills, 1 stuff block, 1 service ace and 5 digs in only 2 sets played.

With the win,  the Saints record improved to 6-1 on the season while Conestoga slipped to 0-7 . The St. Clair women are currently ranked 4th in the OCAA and sit in a three way tie for first place in the OCAA West Division. The women will wrap up their first semester schedule when they travel to Toronto next weekend to take on Sheridan and Humber on Saturday and Sunday.

After getting off to a good start winning the first set 25-15 the Saints struggled dropping the next two sets 21-25 and 23-25. St. Clair bounced back to take the third set 25-21 but ended up losing the 5th set 15-8 to lose the match 3-2. Robert Carter the way for St. Clair with 13 kills, 1 service ace, 1 stuff block and 7 digs.

With the loss the Saints dropped to 3-4 on the season while Conestoga improved to 2-5 . The St. Clair men are currently ranked 9th in the OCAA.

The men will wrap up their first semester schedule when they travel to Toronto next weekend to take on Sheridan and Humber on Saturday and Sunday.
