The St. Clair College Men’s Volleyball team took part in the Niagara Knights Winter Break Tournament in Welland on Friday and Saturday and returned to Windsor with the Bronze Medal

The Saints ended the tournament with a record of 3-1 winning 12 sets and only dropping 4. On Friday afternoon, the Saints defeated the host Niagara Knights 3-1. Set scores for St. Clair were 16-25, 27-25, 32-30 and 25-18.  On Friday night St. Clair dropped their only match of the tournament to the Georgian Grizzlies 3-1. Set scores for Georgian were 25-20, 21-25, 25-23 and 25-15. The Grizzlies are 9-0 on the season and have only lost 3 sets all year in OCAA play.

On Saturday, the Saints wrapped up round robin play beating Fleming College 3-0. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-21, 25-20 and 25-17. This set up the Bronze Medal match with the Redeemer University Royals. The Saints beat the Royals 3-0 by scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-20.

St. Clair’s Jared Niziolek was named a Tournament All-Star for his outstanding play.

The Saints schedule has them return to OCAA regular season action on Sunday, January 15 when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga Condors.
