St. Clair College women’s volleyball hosted Fanshawe Falcons at the Sportsplex Wednesday night
St. Clair Saints women came away with a solid win defeating Fanshawe 3-0. The Saints got off to a slow start in the first set but picked up their game to win 25-15. St. Clair won the second set 25-14 and the third 25-18 to take the match. Outside hitter Kaila Crough led the way for St. Clair with 13 kills, 4 service aces, 1 assist and 4 digs. Middle Jessica Masse chipped in with 6 kills, 3 stuff blocks, 1 service ace and 4 digs.
With the win the Saints record improved to 5-1 on the season while Fanshawe slipped to 2-4. The St. Clair women are currently ranked 4th in the OCAA and sit in first place in the OCAA West Division.
St. Clair’s next match is on Sunday, November 27 at 2 pm when they host Conestoga College at the Sportsplex.

Men’s Volleyball Lose to Top Ranked Fanshawe
In a very intense and exciting match the Saints played well but ended up losing 3-0. All three sets could have gone either way with Fanshawe winning 25-23, 29-27 and 27-25. The Saints offense was spread around well with Jared Niziolek leading the way for St. Clair with 9 kills, 1 stuff block and 2 digs. Stephen Carter had a big game as well with 8 kills, 1 stuff block and 3 digs.
With the loss the Saints fell to 3-3 on the season while Fanshawe improved to 5-1 . The St. Clair men are currently ranked 9th in the OCAA while Fanshawe is ranked 2nd in Ontario and 5th in Canada.
St. Clair is next in action when they host Conestoga College on Sunday, November 27 at 4 pm at the Sportsplex in their final home game of the semester.
