St. Clair College Women’s Volleyball Clinch Playoff Home Game

The St. Clair women’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule at the Sportsplex on Sunday afternoon and came away with a convincing 3-0 win over the College Boreal Viperes (Sudbury).

Set scores for St. Clair were 25-14, 25-14, and 25-8.

Middle Kelly Rodgers (Waterloo; Bluevale Collegiate) led the way offensively for the Saints with 8 kills, 1 stuff block and 2 service aces. Setter Rileigh Davis (Georgetown; Georgetown District) had a great match with 1 kill, 2 service aces, 29 assists and 5 digs.

With the win St. Clair improved to on 13-3 the season while Boreal dropped to 0-16. The Saints are currently ranked 4th in Ontario.

The Saints honoured graduating senior student athletes Kelly Rodgers, Alexis Stewart, Lilly Hearn, Chantal DeVlugt and Rileigh Davis prior to the match.

The Saints have locked up a home playoff game on February 18 as they are guaranteed to finish either 2nd or 3rd in the OCAA West Division.

The Saints will wrap up their regular season schedule on the road next weekend as they travel to GTA area to play Humber College on Saturday and Sheridan College on Sunday.

St. Clair Men’s Volleyball Get to 500 Mark

The St. Clair men’s volleyball team wrapped up their OCAA regular season home schedule at the Sportsplex on Sunday afternoon and came away with a convincing 3-0 win over the College Boreal Viperes (Sudbury).

Set scores for St. Clair were 25-10, 25-16, and 25-17.

Jacob Arsenault-Dufour (Sarnia; St. Francois Xavier) led the way offensively for the Saints with 7 kills, 2 stuff blocks and 2 service aces. Connor O’Donohue (Chatham; John McGregor) also had a solid match with 7 kills, 1 service ace, 2 assists and 4 digs.

With the win St. Clair improved to on 8-8 the season while Boreal dropped to 0-16.

The Saints honoured graduating senior student athletes Jacob Derksen, Zach Walls, Connor O’Donohue, Blake Harnadek and Vaunn Smith prior to the match.

The west division playoff standings are tight with the possibility of the Saints finishing anywhere from fourth to eighth with two more matches remaining.

St. Clair will wrap up their regular season schedule on the road next weekend as they travel to GTA area to play Humber on Saturday and Sheridan on Sunday.
