Big Upset Win for St. Clair Men’s Volleyball
The St. Clair men’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule at the Sportsplex on Friday night and came away with big 3-1 upset win over the Redeemer University Royals (Ancaster)
Set scores for St. Clair were 24-26, 25-17, 25-17, and 25-23.
Rookie outside hitter Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) led the way offensively for the Saints with 15 kills (.324 %), 1 service ace, 2 stuff blocks and 6 digs. Setter Nick Kwiatkowski (Essex; Essex District) had a great match as well with 30 assists, 1 service ace, 2 stuff blocks and 4 digs. Middle Zach Walls (Amherstburg; Villanova) also had a solid match picking up some big points with 5 kills and a service ace.
With the win St. Clair improved to on 6-8 the season while Redeemer dropped to 8-6. The Royals are currently ranked 7th in Ontario.
The Saints are next in action on Saturday, February 4th at 3 pm as they host the Cambrian Golden Shield in their second last home game of the season.
St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Also Win
The St. Clair women’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule on Friday night at the Sportsplex and came away with a convincing 3-0 win over the Redeemer University Royals (Ancaster).
Set scores for St. Clair 25-22, 25-21, and 25-20.
Second year outside hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders) led the way offensively for the Saints with 12 kills, 2 services aces, and 5 digs. Rookie middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Marantha Christian) had a big game as well with 7 kills, and 1 stuff block.
With the win St. Clair improved to 11-3 on the season while Redeemer fell to to 7-7. The Saints are currently ranked 4th in Ontario while the Royals are 10th.
The Saints are back in action on Saturday, February 4th at 1 pm when they host the Cambrian Golden Shield in their second last home game of the regular season
