St. Clair Saints Volleyball Weekend Recap Nov 2 2019

St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Remain Undefeated

The St. Clair women’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule at home on Saturday afternoon and came away with a hard fought 3-0 win over the Redeemer University Royals (Ancaster).

Set scores for St. Clair were 25-21, 25-23 and 25-21. Outside hitter Te-Anna Stephenson (3rd Year; Whitby; Sinclair Secondary) let the way for the Saints with 10 kills, 1 service ace, 5 stuff blocks and 5 digs. Middle Kiana Gelissen (Lasalle; Sandwich Secondary) also had a solid match with 8 kills, 1 service ace and 4 digs. Outside hitter Amelia Oliverio (2nd Year; Windsor; St. Joseph’s) had a great game as well with 6 kills, 2 services aces and 10 digs.

With the win St. Clair improved to 3-0 while Redeemer dropped to 0-3. The Saints are next in action on Wednesday, November 6th when they travel to London to take on the top ranked Fanshawe Falcons at 6 pm. St. Clair is currently ranked 5th in the OCAA while Fanshawe is ranked 1st in the OCAA and 5th in Canada a record of 4-0.

St. Clair Men’s Volleyball Drop First Match of the Season

The St. Clair men’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule at home on Saturday afternoon and suffered a 3-0 loss to the Redeemer University Royals (Ancaster). It was the Saint’s first loss of the regular season.

Set scores for Redeemer were 25-18, 25-21 and 25-15. Outside hitter Ryan Acott (3rd Year; Windsor; Kennedy) let the way for the Saints with 7 kills, 1 service ace, 1 stuff block and 5 digs. Outside hitter Julian Miletic (3rd Year; Windsor; Kennedy) had a solid game as well with 6 kills and 4 digs.

With the loss St. Clair’s record dropped to 2-1 while Redeemer improved to 2-1. The Royals are ranked 2nd in the OCAA and 7th in Canada.

The Saints are next in action on Wednesday, November 6th when they travel to London to take on the Fanshawe Falcons at 8 pm
