St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Sweep Niagara
The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team opened their second semester OCAA schedule on Saturday afternoon by defeating the Niagara College Knights 3-0 at the Sportsplex. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-17, 25-19 and 25-17.
Third year outsider hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders) led the way offensively for the Saints with 14 kills on 22 attempts. Outside hitter Ashley Maleyko (LaSalle; Villanova) also had a big game with 8 kills, 2 service aces, and 1 stuff block. Middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Marantha) had a solid match as well with 7 kills on 10 attempts, 1 service ace and 2 stuff blocks.
The Saints are now 10-2 on the season and are ranked 2nd in Ontario and 8th in Canada. The Knights dropped to 7-6 with the loss and are ranked 6th in the OCAA.
St. Clair is next in action on Friday, January 19 at 6 pm when they travel to Ancaster to take on the Redeemer Royals.
St. Clair Men’s Volleyball Improve to 9-3
The St. Clair College men’s volleyball team opened their second semester OCAA schedule on Saturday afternoon by defeating the Niagara College Knights 3-2 at the Sportsplex. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-15, 20-25, 25-27, 25-23 and 15-11.
Second year outsider hitter Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) led the way offensively for the Saints with 22 kills, 2 stuff blocks, 2 service aces and 4 digs. Second year outside hitter Eric Glos (Tecumseh; Tecumseh Vista) also had a big game with 15 kills, 2 service aces, 1 stuff block and 4 digs. Middle Zach Walls (Amherstburg; Villanova) had a solid match as well with 9 kills on 17 attempts, 2 service aces and 1 stuff block.
The Saints are now 9-3 on the season and are ranked 3rd in Ontario. The Knights dropped to 8-5 with the loss and are ranked 8th in the OCAA.
St. Clair is next in action on Friday, January 19 at 6 pm when they travel to Ancaster to take on the Redeemer Royals.
