St. Clair Saints Women’s Softball Gain Two More Commitments
The St. Clair College Women’s Softball team gained two more commitments heading into the 2022 season with the addition of Madison Barber (Caledon, ON) and Mckenna Copley (Pain Court, ON).
Barber is a graduate of Humberview Secondary School (Bolton, ON) standing 5’8” but is an IF/OF utility player with some pitching skill. She has good club experience with the Brampton Blazers and UTM Caledon and will be enrolled in St. Clair’s Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Information Communication Technology) program.
Saints Head Coach Doug Wiseman complimented Barber, “Madison is a dedicated and committed player whose aggressiveness will fit into our system quite easily. We are looking for Madison to contribute to the team this season.”
Wiseman continued about Barber, “Madison will add to our team depth at all four infield positions as well as the outfield to go with some pitching background.”
The 5’8″ Copley is a Dover Center, ON product who attended École Secondaire de Pain Court but has played club ball with UTM Windsor and the Chatham Golden Eagles where she contributed to four provincial medals. Copley is a pitcher but when playing defensively can bat from both sides of the plate.
Wiseman said about Copley, “Mckenna brings a great attitude to the program adding a calmness while in the pitching circle. We have been impressed by her ability to improve her craft by constantly working on and adding extra pitches.”
“Mckenna also brings some versatility as she is capable of playing a corner outfield position,” added Wiseman.
Copley will be taking the Pre-Health Sciences program at St. Clair’s Thames campus in Chatham.
Wiseman noted, “We are happy to add both players to our team as they bring different dynamics. I am looking forward to seeing both players progress through the season.”
