Drake Rymsha scored the overtime winner as the Sarnia Sting came from behind to stun the Windsor Spitfires 6-5 at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia Friday night.

Trailing 5-2 late in the third period, the Sting struck for three goals – including two by defenceman and team captain Kevin Spinozzi – in a span of three minutes and 18 seconds to send the game into extra time.

Jordan Kyrou and Louis Latta had the other goals for the Sting (20-16-5-1) and Spinozzi scored his first goal of the game to complete the hat-trick.

Gabriel Vilardi paced the Spitfires (26-8-5-1) offensively with three goals of his own, including a shorthanded effort that staked the team to their three-goal lead in the third period while Aaron Luchuk and Julius Nattinen had single markers. Nattinen also had a pair of assists for a three-point game while Mikhail Sergachev also chipped in with a pair of helpers.

Aidan Hughes made 26 saves to pick up the win in net while Mario Culina made 25 stops at the other end.

The Windsor Spitfires schedule has them return home to regroup before returning to action Sunday afternoon when host the Saginaw Spirit at the WFCU Centre.
