The St. Clair Saints varsity indoor soccer teams were in Toronto today taking part in the OCAA Regionals at the Ontario Soccer Centre.
The St. Clair men ended up going 3-0 to win their pool and advance to the OCAA Championships. St. Clair started off the day by defeating the defending OCAA Champion Humber Hawks by a score of 3-0. In their next match the Saints took down the University of Toronto Mississauga 2-1. In their final match of the day St. Clair easily beat St. Lawrence Cornwall 4-1.
The St. Clair women went 3-1 in their pool to finish in 2nd place and also advance to the Championships. The Saints got off to a great start defeating George Brown 5-1. In their second match St. Clair dropped a tight match to Georgian by a score of 2-1. St. Clair bounced back to take down Lakehead University Orillia by a score of 13-0. The Saints wrapped things up for the day beating St. Lawrence Cornwall 9-0.
The Championships are being hosted by Redeemer University in Ancaster on March 18-19. The event features the top 8 teams from across Ontario. The St. Clair women are the defending OCAA Gold Medalists.
