SCC Volleyball Women Inch Closer to Playoffs With Win.

The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team won their match over the Conestoga Condors on Sunday afternoon at the Sportsplex by a score of 3-0.

Game scores for St. Clair were 25-23, 25-21, and 25-9. The Saints had a solid team effort and were led by Helen Wiebe with 15 kills, 1 stuff block, and 13 digs. Shalena Horst had a solid match as well with 8 kills, 2 service aces, 1 stuff block and 14 digs.

Women’s SCC volleyball improved to 9-6 on the season while Conestoga fell to 1-13. The Saints are now tied for 3rd place in the OCAA West Division and are currently ranked 9th in Ontario. With the win women’s SCC volleyball is one win away from clinching a playoff spot with 3 matches remaining. However, things are very tight as the Saints could still finish anywhere from 2nd to 7th.

The top 6 teams make the playoffs with the top two earning an automatic spot in the OCAA Championships.

The Saints are next in action when they host the Fanshawe Falcons on Tuesday, February 9 at 6 pm at the Sportsplex in their final regular season home game.

 

St. Clair Men’s Volleyball Defeat Conestoga

SCC volleyball men’s volleyball team won their match over the Conestoga Condors on Sunday afternoon at the Sportsplex by a score of 3-0.

Game scores for St. Clair were 25-18, 26-24, and 25-23. The win included a big comeback in the third set as St. Clair was down big including a deficit of 23-20. The Saints had a solid team effort and were led by Justin Fisher with 11 kills, 1 stuff block, and 4 digs. Michael Knight had a solid match as well with 8 kills, 4 service aces, 1 stuff block and 8 digs.

The St. Clair men improved to 4-11 on the season while Conestoga fell to 3-11. The Saints are now in 7th place in the OCAA West Division.

The Saints are next in action when they host the Fanshawe Falcons on Tuesday, February 9 at 8 pm at the Sportsplex in their final regular season home game.
