The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team also travelled to Sudbury this weekend and came away with a split to secure a spot in the OCAA Playoffs.

On Saturday, the Saints took on the College Boreal Viperes. St. Clair came away with a 3-1 win. Game scores for St. Clair were 21-12, 19-25, 25-17 and 25-13. With the loss Boreal’s record fell to 0-18.

On Sunday, the Saints faced the Cambrian College Golden Shield in a battle for fourth place. St. Clair came out on the short end of this one suffering a tough 3-2 loss. Game scores for Cambrian were 28-26, 22-25, 19-25, 25-23 and 15-7. With the win Shield ended their season with a record of 10-8.

With the split the Saints have ended their regular season with a record of 10-8 and are currently in a three way tie for fourth place in the tight OCAA West Division with two other teams.

The top 6 teams qualify for the playoffs. However, there is one game remaining in the division on Tuesday night that could see the Sheridan Bruins make it a 4 way tie for 4th place. Based on tiebreakers, St. Clair will either finish in 5th or 6th place and have to go on the road next weekend in a playoff cross over match to qualify for the OCAA Championships.

 

St. Clair Men’s Volleyball End Season with 2 Wins

The St. Clair College men’s volleyball team travelled to Sudbury this weekend to wrap up their OCAA regular season schedule.

On Saturday, the Saints took on the College Boreal Viperes. St. Clair came away with a 3-0 win. Game scores for St. Clair were 29-27, 25-17, and 25-12. With the loss Boreal’s record fell to 2-16.

On Sunday, the Saints faced the Cambrian College Golden Shield. St. Clair won the match by a score 3-1. Game scores for the Saints were 25-17, 25-11, 22-25 and 25-13. With the loss Cambrian ended their season with a record of 0-18.

With the two wins the Saints have ended their regular season with a record of 6-12 and in 7th place in the very tough OCAA West Division. The top 6 teams qualify for the playoffs.
