Windsor Spitfires Defeat Firebirds Oct 13
Logan Brown scored three goals and Michael DiPietro made 28 saves as the Windsor Spitfires hammered the Flint Firebirds 7-2 at the WFCU Centre in Windsor Thursday night.
Jalen Chatfield, Jeremiah Addison, Luke Boka and Aaron Luck had the other goals for the Spitfires (7-2-0) who extended their winning streak to four games. Chatfield, the team’s overage defenceman, added a pair of assists for a three-point game.
Former Spitfire Ryan Moore, the Ontario Hockey League’s leading scorer, scored his 9th goal of the season for the Firebirds and also assisted on Kole Sherwood’s goal for the Firebirds (4-3-0-1).

The game marked the regular season debut for the Spitfires of Julius Nattinen, who was acquired from the Barrie Colts during the off-season and was just returned from the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks. The Finnish forward chipped in with a pair of assists on the night.
Special teams went a long way in deciding the outcome of the game . The Spitfires scored on three of their four opportunities playing with the extra man to boost their OHL-leading powerplay to an impressive 37.8 per cent while the Firebirds did not score on either of their two powerplay chances.
Connor Hicks, who was acquired earlier in the season in a blockbuster trade with the Hamilton Bullogs, looked shaky throughout the contest and made just 13 saves while taking the loss in net for the Firebirds.
The Spitfires return to action Friday night when they hit the road to take on the London Knights at the Budweiser Gardens.
