Windsor Spitfires New Signings and Acquisitions
Jack Greenwell
The Windsor Spitfires have announced the signing of Jack Greenwell to an OHL scholarship and development agreement.
Greenwell was selected #89 overall by the Spitfires in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection draft. He was drafted out of the London Jr. Knights program. Jack hails from London, Ontario. He stands at 6’0 and weighs 181lbs.
Greenwell played for the Komoka Kings of the GOJHL during the 2022-23 season. He recorded 16 goals and 37 assists for 53 points in 45 games played. Jack also played for the Lasalle Vipers in the GOJHL in the 2021-22 season and appeared in 46 games while recording 10 goals and 10 assists.
The London native is excited to be joining the club.
“It is a great feeling to sign with the Windsor Spitfires and I’m very excited to get to work.” Greenwell said. “I have worked towards this step in my career since I was young and I can’t wait to get in front of the Windsor fans and be apart of such a great organization.”

“This is a good signing from our 2005 draft class.” GM Bill Bowler said. “Jack had a great year in the GOJHL. His development and progression has earned him this spot on our team. His speed allows him to play wing or center and potentially be a versatile forward for us.”
Tanner Winegard
The Spitfires have signed Tanner Winegard to an OHL scholarship and development agreement.
Winegard was selected #203 overall by the Spitfires in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection draft. He was drafted out of the Lambton Jr. Sting program. Tanner hails from Bright’s Grove, Ontario. He stands at 6’5 and weighs 227lbs.
Winegard played for the London Nationals and Sarnia Legionnaires of the GOJHL during the 2022-23 season. He recorded 5 goals and 15 assists for 20 points in 32 games with the Legionnaires before being traded to the Nationals where he scored 6 goals and recorded 5 assists in 15 games. Tanner also played for the Lasalle Vipers in the GOJHL in the 2021-22 season and appeared in 45 games while recording 7 goals and 17 assists.
The Bright’s Grove native is excited to be joining the club.
“I am super excited to sign for the Spitfires.” Winegard said. “I am looking forward to playing with the boys in this great organization.”

“This is a good signing from our 2005 draft class.” GM Bill Bowler said. “His development in the GOJHL has earned himself a spot to play on our team. He’s a big frame that will be hard to play against and we welcome him to our D core.”
Ryan Struthers
The Spitfires have acquired Ryan Struthers from the Mississauga Steelheads in exchange for future considerations.
Struthers, 19, is a native of Milton, Ontario appeared in 31 games for the Steelheads and recorded 1 goal and one assist last season. During the 2021-22 season, Struthers played for the Niagars Ice Dogs and scored 3 goals while recording 10 assists in 62 games.
“Ryan is an OHL caliber player, that will have a great opportunity with our hockey club.” GM Bill Bowler said. “He is a determined athlete and we hope we can help him develop and he can help us.”
Carter Froggett
The Spitfires have signed Carter Froggett to an OHL scholarship and development agreement.
Froggett was selected #107 overall by the Spitfires in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection draft. Carter hails from Thorndale, Ontario. He stands at 6’3 and weighs 206lbs.
Froggett played for the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs when he was drafted during the 2021-22 season. He posted a 1.77 GAA in 13 games in the ALLIANCE. Froggett played for the London Jr Knights U18 program during the 2022-23 season. He appeared in 20 games and recorded a 2.64 GAA. Carter was called up to the London Nationals of the GOJHL for 2 games and posted a 2.36 GAA and a .915 SV%.
The Thorndale native is excited to be joining the club.
“It was a dream come true to be drafted in 2022 by the Spitfires.” Froggett said. “I want to thank Bill Bowler and his team for giving me the opportunity to become a part of such a great organization. I am looking forward to putting in the work and earning my place between the pipes.”

Evan Hjelholt
The Spitfires have signed Evan Hjelholt to an OHL scholarship and development agreement.
Hjelholt was selected #18 overall by the Spitfires in the 2023 U-18 OHL draft. Evan hails from Richmond Hill, Ontario. He stands at 6’2 and weighs 200lbs.
Hjelholt played for the Toronto Titans when he was drafted during the 2022-23 season. He played in 36 games and recorded 3 assists on the backend. He is a product of the Richmond Hill Coyotes U16 program.
The Richmond Hill native is excited to be joining the club.
“I am excited to get started and be in the organizations plans.” Hjelholt said. “Practicing and playing with the guys will make me better as a person and a player. I am honoured to be a part of this organization.”

“Evan is a character kid with a high compete level.” GM Bill Bowler said. “He has a good active stick and he defends with a purpose. We welcome him to our club.”
Trevor O’Dell
The Spitfires have signed Trevor O’Dell to an OHL scholarship and development agreement.
O’Dell was selected #142 overall by the Spitfires in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection draft. Trevor hails from Stouffville, Ontario. He stands at 6’3 and weighs 166lbs.
O’Dell played for the Toronto Nationals of the GTHL when he was drafted during the 2021-22 season. He played in 25 games and recorded 1 goal and 3 assists. Trevor continued to develop with the Toronto Nationals U18 program during the 2022-23 season. He appeared in 7 games and recorded one assist.
The Stouffville native is excited to be joining the club.
“I am happy and thrilled to be a part of this organization.” O’Dell said. “The work starts now and I’m excited to play in front of this amazing fan base.”
