Windsor Spitfires Shutout Ottawa 67s

Logan Brown scored three goals and linemate Jeremy Bracco had three assists as the Windsor Spitfires blanked the Ottawa 67s 4-0 at the WFCU Centre Thursday night.

Former 67 Jeremiah Addison, who was acquired from Ottawa in the off-season, scored the other goal for the Spitfires (28-8-5-2).

Brown’s hat-trick was his second of the season and his two first period powerplay markers ended an 0-11 dry spell Windsor had experienced in its previous four games.

Michael DiPietro made 31 saves to pick up his league-leading fifth shutout of the season while Leo Lazarev made 25 saves for the 67s (18-21-5-0) who are coached by former National Hockey League player Jeff Brown, the father of Logan Brown.

The victory was the Spitfires fifth straight at home and improved their record at the WFCU Centre to 16-2-1 in a season in which they are hosting the Memorial Cup.

Windsor Spitfires now has a rare Friday night off before hosting the Niagara IceDogs Saturday night at the WFCU Centre.
