Spitfires centre Gabriel Vilardi has been cleared to return to the ice

Injured during Hockey Canada’s World Under-18 orientation camp back in August, Vilardi is progressing nicely in his recovery under the direction of Athletic Therapist Joey Garland. “After consulting with team doctors, therapists and medical specialists, Gabe is ready to resume on-ice activity,” Garland said. “All signs point to him returning to game action soon.”

MCENENY EARNS ROSTER SPOT

General Manager Warren Rychel has added depth on the back-end with the signing of Austin McEneny. The 19-year-old Waterdown, Ontario native, who came to training camp as a free agent, spent the 2015-16 season with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL. “Austin skates, sees the ice and moves the puck well,” Rychel said. “He’s a right-handed shot that can help generate offense. He was too good of a player to pass up.”
