Roy Radke scored the eventual game winner early in the second period, as the Colts beat the Spitfires 3-1 Saturday night at the Molson Centre.

Connor Chatham (12) opened the scoring for the visitors, going post-and-in on the power play for his first goal as a Spitfire at 6:11 of the first period.

But the lead didn’t last long in a second period dominated from the outset by the Colts.

After Andrew Mangiapane (20) tied the game on a power play at the 1:49 mark, Radke gave the home side its first lead of the night – and all it would need to win – less than three minutes later, converting an Anthony Stefano tape-to-tape pass at the right post past Mario Culina (16 saves).

Windsor (24-11-5-0) had several chances to tie the game, but converted on just one of seven power play opportunities, including a four-minute advantage in the final minutes of the second and early moments of the third period.

The loss snapped the Spitfires four-game win streak.

MacKenzie Blackwood made 32 saves in the Barrie (24-14-0-1) goal, as the Colts won for the fifth straight time at home.

The Spits wrap the weekend Sunday evening in Oshawa, where they will take on former Spitfires associate coach Bob Jones and the Generals (6:00).
