St. Clair Men’s Baseball Swipe Pair in Sarnia

The St. Clair College Men’s Baseball team remain undefeated after a pair of wins Friday night over Lambton College at Sarnia’s Errol Russell Park. Following 8-2 and 6-5 victories the Saints are now 14-0 with just four home games remaining in the regular season next weekend.

In game one St. Clair didn’t open the scoring until the 4th inning when they pushed across a single but built a 5-0 lead after the 5th. The Saints added three runs in the 7th before allowing Lambton to score twice in the bottom half which did not change the result. Rowan Glasgow (LaSalle, ON/Sandwich) had the big strike in the 5th smashing a 3-run homer allowing St. Clair to break the game wide open as part of his 2-hit and 3-RBI performance. Tyler Brown-Amlin (Windsor, ON/Sandwich had two singles and scored a run to help the Saints. St. Clair starter Brock Whitson (Chatham, ON) made a bid for his 5th complete but had to settle for his 5th win after 6.1 IP spreading out five hits that produced two earned runs against while striking out six batters.

The Saints worked their way to a 6-0 lead in game two scoring a run in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings before putting up three runs in the 6th. Lambton produced some drama in the 7th when they scored five times and had the tying and winning runs on base with two outs. St. Clair was able to shut the door and secure the tense win. Brady Knelsen (Leamington, ON/Leamington) notched his 5th win of the season for the Saints in six innings of work giving up just one hit and two walks to go with a remarkable 13 strikeouts. Adrian Harrison (Cottam, ON/Essex) had two singles and three RBI for St. Clair while teammate Andrew Langlois (LaSalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) added a pair of singles which allowed him to score twice.

The Saints host Seneca College (North York) Friday night with the regular season finales on Saturday afternoon against Humber College (Etobicoke) at Lacasse Park.
