St. Clair Men’s Golf Team Makes Division I Cut
The St. Clair College Men’s Golf team improved their team score by 10 strokes at the OCAA Golf Championship in Sault Ste. Marie being played at Crimson Ridge Golf Club. With the improvement the Saints have qualified for Division I play for the final round on Wednesday. The men’s teams are split in half after two rounds into Division I and Division II. It is the first time since 2012 that St. Clair have made the Division I cut.
The Saints are only 14 strokes out of the bronze medal position heading into the final round on Wednesday. For the team competition 5 men play with the best 4 scores counting each day. Darren Alexander (Essex) and Tyler Leblanc (Belle River) led the way for the Saints on Day 2 with rounds of 78 and 79 respectively. The average score for the men on the day 2 was 85.6.
On the women’s side Victoria Ducharme (Windsor) sits in 6th place after 2 rounds with a score of 183.
