St. Clair Men’s Volleyball Defeat Redeemer

The St. Clair College men’s volleyball team opened their OCAA home schedule on Thursday night by defeating the Redeemer University Royals 3-1. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-20, 25-17, 21-25, and 25-13.

Outsider hitter Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) led the way offensively for the Saints with 21 kills, 2 stuff blocks, 1 service ace and 7 digs. Middle Zach Walls (Amherstburg; Villanova) also had a big game with 11 kills, 3 service aces and 1 stuff block. Setter Nick Kwiatkowski (Essex; Essex District) had a great match as well dishing out 42 assists and adding 2 kills, 1 service ace and 10 digs.

The Saints are now 1-1 on the season while Redeemer dropped to 1-3.

St. Clair is next in action on Friday night at 6 pm when they host the Mohawk Mountaineers at the Sportsplex

Outsider hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders) led the way offensively for the Saints with 13 kills, 4 service aces and 10 digs. Ashley Maleyko (LaSalle; Villanova) also had a solid game with 6 kills, 2 service aces, 2 stuff blocks and 8 digs. Setter Emma Clements (Windsor; Holy Names) had a great match as well dishing out 26 assists and adding 3 stuff blocks, 2 kills, 2 service aces and 8 digs.

The Saints are now 2-0 on the season while Redeemer dropped to 2-2. St. Clair is currently ranked 4th in Ontario.

St. Clair is next in action on Friday night at 8 pm when they host the Mohawk Mountaineers at the Sportsplex
