St. Clair Women’s Soccer End Regular Season with a Win

The St. Clair College women’s varsity soccer team wrapped up their OCAA regular season schedule on Tuesday night in Sarnia.

The Saints took on the Lambton Lions and returned home with a convincing 8-0 win. The game was shortened to 75 minutes to due lightning and darkness. Payton Boggs (Flint, MI; Tecumseh Vista) led the way with 2 goals with singles going to Cassie Rose-Medeiros (London; John Paul II), Amber Hosker (Windsor; Catholic Central), Ryan Morneau (Windsor; L’Essor), Brooke Meloche (Amherstburg; Villanova), Haley Tavares (London; John Paul II) and Claire Lazarus (Lakeshore; Belle River District). Alex Samping (Windsor; Holy Names) earned the win and clean sheet in goal.

The St. Clair women are currently ranked 10th in the OCAA. With the win the Saints end their regular season with a record of 5-4. St. Clair has clinched a playoff spot but could finish anywhere from 4th to 6th depending on the results of the final league games on Wednesday night. The Saints will play a cross over game on Saturday, October 19th against the East Division to earn a spot at the OCAA Championship at Redeemer University from October 23rd to 26th.
