St. Clair Women’s Softball Drop Pair in Etobicoke

The St. Clair College Women’s Softball team suffered a pair of losses Sunday afternoon to Humber College at Etobicoke’s Connorvale Park dropping 5-2 and 6-2 decisions. The Saints now have a 5-3 record and are tied for 3rd Place in the OCAA standings.

In game one St. Clair held a brief 2-1 lead in the 2nd inning before allowing Humber to score four runs over the next two frames. Kirsten Kipfer (Mitchell, ON) notched her first home run of the season for the Saints, but it was one of only her team’s four hits in the game. St. Clair starter Danna Juarez (Airdrie, AB) suffered her first loss of the season after giving up 5 runs on 5 hits.

The Saints scored in the 6th inning of game two and were down 2-1 before Humber scored four runs in the bottom half to create separation. St. Clair had a decent rally with the bases in the 7th inning loaded but could only push across a single before they ran short of outs. Juarez and Brooke Cameron (Rimbey, AB) each had a double in the game for the Saints while Judy Lafleur (Essex, ON/Essex) stroked three singles and Shae-Lyn Murphy (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) slapped a pair of hits.

St. Clair comes home Wednesday night for a doubleheader against Lambton College (Sarnia) with game times set for 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the SportsPark diamond.
