St. Clair’s Corriveau Wins OCAA Coach of the Year

St. Clair College’s head golf coach Kevin Corriveau was named the OCAA Golf Coach of the Year on Friday for the second season in a row.

Kevin recently led the St. Clair men’s team to an OCAA Gold Medal in the Championship that was hosted at Barrie Golf Club.  It was the first men’s team gold medal in history for the Saints. Golf has been in the OCAA since 1967. Spencer Higginbottom also won an individual Bronze Medal.

The St. Clair women’s team won OCAA Silver and Alyssa Cowling finished in 5th place individually followed by Justine Gorham in 6th.  The women’s teams and players have earned several medals in recent years as well.

Higginbottom, Cowling and Steven Hill have all qualified for the 2025 Golf Ontario Amateur Championship as well.

Corriveau, who is OCAA’s nominee for national golf coach of the year, will now lead the Saints men and women into the 2024 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Golf National Championships, presented by PING. The event takes place at RedCrest Golf Club in King, ON from Oct. 13-18.  The men finished in 4th place last year at Nationals and are hoping to improve on that placing.
