Green Giants Win Streak Snapped at Four

The St. Clair Green Giants dropped a 6-4 decision to the Muskegon Clippers Sunday evening at Marsh Field. With the loss the Green Giants fall to 8-3, but still sit in first place in the Northern division.

Once again the Green Giants fell into an early hole trailing 4-0 after the first inning. They were able to cut the deficit in half in the 4th scoring 2 runs to trail 4-2, but the Clippers responded with two of their own in the 5th, to restore their 4 run lead. The Green Giants would inch closer again putting up a pair of runs in the 7th inning to close the gap to 6-4 but that is as close as they would come.

Starting pitcher Austen Bullington struggled on the mound giving up 6 runs, on 7 hits in 4.2 innings of work. Stephen Rausa relieved Bullington and pitched a very strong 3.1 innings giving up 0 runs while striking out 5 to give his team a chance to win down the stretch. Adam Tanoue led the offense going 3-4 with a run and 2 RBI.

St. Clair is next in action Monday night, as they try and split the two game series with the Clippers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm at Marsh Field.
