Vallée adds Madeline Adams for 2018-19 Women’s Basketball
Adams, a 6’1 forward, joins the Blue & Gold from the TriCounty Thunder in the JUEL League and Jacob Hespeler Secondary School.
A native of Cambridge, ON, Adams originally played hockey before switching to basketball in grade nine. Adams has played with the Thunder for four years and has helped the squad to a pair of bronze medal finishes.
The dynamic forward captained her Jacob Hespeler team to a WCSSAA silver medal last season, as the team qualified for the CWOSSA championship tournament for the second time in her high school career. Adams was named a WCSSAA second team all-star and was nominated for the team’s most valuable player.
Coach Vallée is extremely excited to have Adams join the Lancer roster. “For years we have pride ourselves in recruiting post players that flourish under our system. When I saw Maddy play for the first time, I knew immediately that she would fit right in with her skill her tenacity and her talent,” said Vallée. “She is a player that doesn’t mind the contact and draws well from her hockey skills when she played at high levels. Second, her personality is outstanding. She is another very talented and great character person that will add to our Lancer family for years to come!”
Adams will be studying in the Faculty of Human Kinetics and is equally as excited to become part of the Lancer family. “I couldn’t be more excited for the next five years. I look forward to growing academically, athletically, and as a person at Windsor,” said Adams. “Windsor was the best fit for myself. The team and all the coaches made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I loved the energy and excitement that all the girls had. I can see myself playing with them, learning from them, and winning with them.”
In addition to her basketball skills, Adams is also tremendously successful in track and field and volleyball. The two time athlete of the year is a three time WCSSAA shot put champion, a 200m and discuss finalist, and helped lead her girls’ volleyball team to a WCSSAA and CWOSSA volleyball championship in 2014-15.
