The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team travelled to London on Wednesday to take on the Fanshawe Falcons.

 

By Jay Shewfelt – Saints volleyball came away with a huge win upsetting the Falcons by a score of 3-1.

Game scores for St. Clair were 16-25, 25-22, 25-18 and 25-22 .

Shalena Horst led the way with 12 kills, 3 service aces, and 6 digs. Sara Yablonsky also had a solid game with 7 kills, 5 stuff blocks, 1 service ace, and 3 digs.

With the win St. Clair improved their season record to 5-4 while Fanshawe fell to 8-3 . Fanshawe is ranked 5th in the OCAA while the Saints just recently slipped out of the top 10. The Saints are now off for the exam and holiday break and will return to action on January 2-3 when they travel to Oshawa to take part in the Durham College Adidas Cup Tournament.
