WINDSOR CLIPPERS ELIMINATED
The 2019 season has come to an end for the Windsor Clippers. The Clippers fell to the Six Nations Rebels 14-6 on Friday night, giving the Rebels a 3-0 series win. The Rebels will face the winner of the Elora-Hamilton series in the western conference final.
Josh Rosa scored three times to lead the Clippers offence. Singles were scored by Brett Barnes, Zane Dalpe and Blain Wallace. Carson Hebner stood tall in goal for the Clippers, making 60 saves in defeat.
The Clippers 2019 season success exceeded most people’s expectations, after losing seven players to graduation at the end of the 2018 season and four players advanced to the Jr. A ranks this spring. The team graduates five year veteran and captain Chad Marentette as well as the two players from Point Edward the Clippers acquired at the trade deadline, Jack Dunn and Brett Barnes.
In other team news, Zane Dalpe has been named the 2019 western conference Rookie of the Year
