WINDSOR CLIPPERS GAME RECAP JUNE 22 2017 – CLIPPERS TAKE SERIES OPENER

The Windsor Clippers opened the first round of the playoffs with a 16-14 victory over the Wallaceburg Red Devils. The win was not the Clippers best performance, but it was good enough to win.

Andrew Garant led all Clippers scorers with three goals, including the game winner and seven assists for a ten point night. Blain Wallace had three goals for the Clipper while Dylan Riley, Chase Kavanaugh, James Morgan and Noah Bushnell potted two each. Singles were tallied by Andrew Clark and Brendan Wallace.

Liam Tomes earned the victory in goal for the Clippers. Tomes came into the game to relieve starter Joel Evans just 6:39 into the contest. Tomes stopped 37 of the  47 shots he faced.

Game two of the series has been moved up to Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm in Wallaceburg. Game three will be back in Windsor next Wednesday night at Forest Glade arena. Game time is 8:00 pm.
