WINDSOR CLIPPERS TAKE 2-0 SERIES LEAD IN 2019 PLAYOFFS

The Windsor Clippers traveled to Niagara to take on the Thunderhawks in game two of the best of five playoff series, and came home with a 10-8 overtime win. The Clippers lead the best of five series 2-0 after a 16-7 win at home on Saturday night.

The Clippers first and only lead came in overtime, after playing from behind the entire game. Trailing 7-5 with under four minutes to play, the Clippers rallied to tie the game. The Clippers had an opportunity to win in regulation, but hit the post with five seconds to play. The deflection off the post allowed the Thunderhawks an opportunity to win the game, but their shot at an open net hit the crossbar at the buzzer.

The Clippers took their good fortune into overtime and scored three times to take a 10-7 lead. Niagara responded with a late power play goal to make it 10-8 and that is how it ended.

Zane Dalpe and Blain Wallace scored three times each for the Clippers. Jackman Schooley added a pair and singles were scored by Jonathan Jenkins and Brett Barnes.

Carson Hebner turned in another stellar game in goal for the Clippers.

Game three of the series will be played on Saturday night at Forest Glade arena. Game time is 7:00 pm
