WINDSOR CLIPPERS VS WELLAND GENERALS RECAP MAY 13
The Windsor Clippers defeated the Welland Generals 13-7 on Saturday night in Welland. The win improves the Clippers record to 5-1-1 on the season. The win also lifted the Clippers into a share of first place in the far west division for the first time this season, with a game in hand. Wallaceburg lost earlier in the day to the Owen Sound North Stars 5-4.
Dylan Riley, Andrew Garant and Craig Marentette scored three goals each for the Clippers in the win. Blain Wallace addad a pair of goals while singles were scored by Chase Kavanaugh and Nathan Salaris. Along with his three goals tonight, Andrew Garant added four assists for a seven point night. Garant currently leads the league in points with 16 goals and 36 assists for 52 points in seven games. Teammate Chase Kavanaugh is right behind him with 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points after seven games.
Jacob Corra and Joel Evans split the goaltending duties tonight, with Cora picking up the win. The Clippers outshot the Generals 60-35.
Up next for the Clippers is a trip to Point Edward on Thursday night to take on the Pacers at 8:00pm. The Clippers next home game is Saturday night when the Owen Sound North Stars come calling. Game time is 7:00pm
