Windsor Spitfires Defeat Hamilton Bulldogs
Hayden McCool scored a goal and added two assists and Mario Culina made 24 saves as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 5-3 at the WFCU Centre Sunday night.
Adam Laishram, Graham Knott, Aaron Luchuk and Luke Boka (empty net) had the other goals for the Spitfires (30-11-5-2) while Mikhail Sergachev chipped in with three assists. Laishram’s first period goal opened the scoring in the game and was his first as a Spitfire since being acquired from the Bulldogs earlier this month.
Michael Cramarossa, Matt Luff and Brandon Saigeon scored for the Bulldogs (22-18-5-2) while Justin Lemcke also had three assists. Dawson Caarty made 24 saves while taking the loss in net.
The victory snapped the Spitfires’ losing streak at three games and moved them to within two points of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for top spot in the Ontario Hockey League’s West Division.
The Windsor Spitfires schedule has them off until Thursday when they host the Saginaw Spirit at the WFCU Centre on Thursday night.
