London Knights Edge Windsor Spitfires in Game 5
Tyler Parsons made 25 saves as the London Knights defeated the Windsor Spitfires in Game 5, 2-1 at the Budweiser Gardens in London Friday night.
With the win, the Knights staved off elimination and forced a game six to be played in their Ontario Hockey League West Conference quarter-final series that will go Sunday afternoon in Windsor.
Robert Thomas, with his first of the play-offs, and Mitchell Stephens scored for the Knights (2-3) while Jeremy Bracco, also with his first goal of the series, replied for the Spitfires (3-2).
Michael DiPietro was steady if not spectacular while making 27 stops for the Spitfires.
The low-scoring and tight-checking game saw neither team being able to take advantage of many powerplay opportunities throughout the contest. The Spitfires were not able to capitalize on any of their six opportunities playing with the man advantage while the Knights went zero for four.
The schedule has Game Six of the series going Sunday afternoon at the WFCU Centre.
