Windsor Spitfires Raise More Than $100,000 During 2017-18 Season
The entire Windsor Spitfires organization wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to our corporate partners, area students and our great fans, who generously helped us raise and donate back more than $100,000 this season, in support of local schools, charitable groups and social agencies.
Here’s a rundown of some key initiatives that helped us achieve this record setting year of fundraising.
WINDSOR SPITFIRES FOUNDATION
Since its inception back in 2006, the Windsor Spitfires Foundation has raised and donated $468,010.50 to local charitable groups and community service agencies, including $43,833.67 this past season.
MVP PROGRAM
Having just completed its third season, our “Most Valuable Playmaker” program matches corporate partners with local charities; highlighting the support, programs and services they provide, along with a $1,000.00 donation through the Windsor Spitfires Foundation. This season, 17 companies took part, donating a total of $21,000 back into the community.
TICKET PROGRAMS
Through the sale of 1,841 specially discounted tickets, our community ticket program raised and donated $9,205.00 to agencies across the Windsor-Essex region.
RAISE YOUR HANDS
Along with longtime community partner East Side Mario’s, students raised $11,505.00 through the sale of discounted tickets, with $5 per ticket going directly to their 21 schools. As a reward for their hard work, hundreds of kids enjoyed a Spitfires game with their classmates and were recognized during the game for their fundraising achievements!
ANTHEM PROGRAM
Along with longtime community partner Devonshire Mall, students raised $2,350.00 for their schools this past season through the sale of discounted tickets, while enjoying the experience of singing the national anthem with their classmates.
FUNDRAISER NIGHTS
Special Olympics Ontario: $4,200.00 | Sparky’s Toy Drive: $4,000.00 | Fight Like Mason Foundation: $2,600.00 | Celebrity Server Night (Buffalo Wild Wings) for Salvation Army: $774.75
