Winner of Hot Wheels Legends Tour Windsor Announced

Snapshots From The Hot Wheels Legends Tour Windsor July 16, 2022

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour took place at the automotive capital of Canada at Walmart in the east end to celebrate Windsor’s deep-rooted, eclectic car culture and showcase the area’s best custom builds.

The Windsor, Canada Hot Wheels Legends Tour winner is a 1973 “Tokyo Trans Am” Toyota Celica owned by local car builder Kevin Huth.

Constructed for SEMA 2019, the original 1973 Toyota Celica was discovered in Washington State via a Craigslist ad before making its way to Ontario for a full rebuild.

Keeping with the original paint for a resto-racer aesthetic, all other powertrain components have been replaced to support the vehicle’s new modified 5.7L Chevrolet LS1 V8 engine producing more than 500 horsepower.

Several of these modifications are on full display in the vehicle’s custom plaid interior, including drift-inspired shift linkages and a hydraulic handbrake, which are mated to a Nissan 370Z transmission and 8.8” Ford Explorer rear end. Finished with Willwood brakes, a suite of Edelbrock engine upgrades and 4-point racing harnesses, this epic 1973 “Tokyo Trans Am” Toyota Celica is one step closer to being immortalized as the next official 1:64 Hot Wheels die-cast vehicle.
