WORLD SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS LOOKING TO ‘FUEL’ THE POWER
The 13th FINA World Swimming Championship (25m) team is holding its final drive to FUEL the power for this year’s Worlds in Windsor. Approximately 600 positions are available in sport operations, venue operations, protocol, hospitality, communications, transportation and more.
Volunteers have been signing up since late 2015, looking for coveted positions at this once-in-a-life-time event. Hundreds are already in our database and many have committed through partnering organizations.
“The best swimmers from around the globe will be competing at this world-class event. On the heels of the Olympics, and the success of Team Canada, the stars of Rio will be right here in Windsor. Volunteers are so important to the success of the event and will have a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of the competition.” – Mayor Drew Dilkens
Previous World Championship host cities include Moscow, Shanghai, Dubai, Doha, Manchester … just to name a few. This is the event’s first time in Canada.
Windsor-Essex residents will be given first preference in selection. Applicants come from all over Canada, USA, South Africa, Europe and Asia. Interest is very high. To be considered, please apply before the deadline of September 22, 2016 at www.finawindsor2016.com
Selections will be made and positions assigned by early October. Volunteers must be 18 years of age.
