Lakeshore Hosts 10th Annual Hocktoberfest

The Hocktoberfest International Girls Hockey Tournament is pleased to announce that they will partner with the Town of Lakeshore and the Lakeshore Lightning to host the 10th annual Hocktoberfest Female Hockey Festival, October 20-22, 2017.

Hocktoberfest presents an event that provides a competitive and unique experience for the athletes, an enjoyable weekend for the coaches, and an entertaining weekend for the families that travel from near and far.

“The Town of Lakeshore loves hockey and we look forward to excellent competition over the three days,” said Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain. “I hope everyone involved with the tournament takes the time to enjoy Lakeshore’s amenities and local dining experiences.”

The tournament is in its tenth year, and the 2017 edition of the event includes six divisions that range from peewee to midget with teams travelling from as far as Illinois. Over 100 games will be played at the Atlas Tube Centre, with a small portion of the games spilling over to Tecumseh Arena.

“We are very pleased with our new partnerships with the Town of Lakeshore, Atlas Tube Centre and Lakeshore Lightning, as well as on-going support from the Town of Tecumseh and the Tecumseh Arena,” said Hocktoberfest chairperson Camille Armour. “We are united in our focus to support girls and young women in hockey, and their pursuit of sport in general.”

The event kicks off Friday morning at both the Atlas Tube Centre and Tecumseh Arena and concludes Sunday evening with the championship banner presentations.
