The Memorial eCup presented by Kia closed out Round 2 action Thursday with four more teams punching their ticket to the next round and setting up the ‘Sweet 16’ set to open Saturday.

Among the highlights from Round 2 included a second hat-trick by Los Angeles Kings first-round pick Quinton Byfield of the Sudbury Wolves. Elsewhere, while second-round play did not require overtime, a pair of contests were decided in the dying seconds, including a 2-1 comeback victory by the North Bay Battalion over the Sherbrooke Phoenix as well as 5-4 win by the Saginaw Spirit over the OHL rival Soo Greyhounds in which team representative Danny Katic netted the game-winner in the final minute of play.

The Memorial eCup presented by Kia features one player representative from all 60 Canadian Hockey League teams showcasing his gaming skills and competitive spirit in NHL 21 on Sony PlayStation 4, with the ultimate champion crowned December 17.
