Beijing 2022 Olympics: Team Canada Results Day 2

BEIJING (February 6, 2022) – Day 2 at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games has come to a close. Here is what you need to know.

DAY 2 RESULTS AND DAY 3 SCHEDULE:

SNOWBOARDING

Mark McMorris, Sébastien Toutant and Max Parrot have advanced to the men’s slopestyle final. McMorris is looking to win a third straight Olympic medal in the event.

A Canadian has yet to be crowned Olympic champion in the men’s slopestyle event. Parrot and McMorris shared the podium at PyeongChang 2018 with a silver and bronze, respectively. McMorris also won bronze at Sochi 2014, the first time snowboard slopestyle was part of the Olympic program.

SKI JUMPING

Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes finished 16th place in men’s normal hill which is his best-ever result at an Olympic Winter Games. Team Canada’s best-ever result in the event is 13th which was achieved by Steve Collins at Calgary 1988.

ALPINE SKIING

The men’s downhill event was postponed to Day 3 because of high winds. Jack Crawford, Brodie Seger and Broderick Thompson will compete in hopes of becoming the third Canadian to win an Olympic medal in the event. Canada has a pair of medals in the event – bronze from both Steve Podborski (1980) and Ed Podivinsky (1984).

FIGURE SKATING

Team Canada will look to secure their third-straight medal in the team event.
