4th Annual Probert Classic PIX

A talent-packed roster including NHL, OHL and AHL players hit the ice Friday night for the 4th Annual Probert Classic hockey game. The event, presented by the GW Foundation, featured the Johnny Shotz Blackhawks vs. the Sprint Construction Red Wings and also featured current Detroit Red Wings Dylan Larkin, Danny Dekeyser as well as Florida Panther and homegrown talent, Aaron Ekblad and Edmonton Oiler Zack Kassian.

Coaches this year included former NHL goaltender Eddie Mio for the Johnny Shotz Blackhawks and Joey Kocur, former Detroit Red Wing and Probert’s “Bruise Brother” for the Sprint Construction Red Wings.

The game took place at Tecumseh Arena and the family-friendly event also featured a Chuck-a-Puck contest, mystery puck, raffle prizing and more. The Probert Classic is a fundraising event organized by Bob Probert’s daughter Tierney Probert and held in June to celebrate his birthday. This year would have Bob turning 52 on June 5th.

All proceeds benefit the upcoming Bob Probert Ride taking place on June 25th.

The Classic along with the Ride raises funds for Cardiac Services and Programs at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.
