Anthony Mantha who made his NHL debut on March 15, scored his first career goal (the GWG) while his grandfather, four-time Stanley Cup Champion Andre Pronovost, watched from the crowd.

Mantha and the Red Wings raced to a 4-0 lead and held off a third-period rally by the Montreal Canadiens to earn their third victory in their past four outings and keep pace with the Flyers in the Eastern Conference Wild Card race.

KADRI, MAPLE LEAFS RALLY FOR OVERTIME VICTORY
The Ducks scored four consecutive goals to overcome a 4-1 deficit, but Connor Brown (1-1—2) tied the game with 4:23 remaining in regulation and Nazem Kadri (2-2—4) scored 41 seconds into overtime to lift the Maple Leafs to their third straight victory and fifth win in their past six contests.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday that the team has loaned forward Josh Leivo to the Toronto Marlies (AHL). Leivo, 22, has scored five goals in 12 games with the Maple Leafs this season while collecting 40 points (14 goals, 26 assists) in 45 games with the Marlies. He was selected by Toronto in the third round (86th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

  • Sheahan (196 GP) and Spurgeon (367 GP) posted their first career multi-goal games, while McGinn set a career high with his 21st goal of the season.
