BEIJING (February 7, 2022) – Day 3 at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games has come to a close. Here is what you need to know.

DAY 3 RESULTS AND DAY 4 SCHEDULE:
With four medals (one gold and three bronze), Day 3 at Beijing 2022 has been the most successful day for Team Canada at an Olympic Winter Games.
Following the bronze medal in ski jumping, Canada joins the United States in having won at least one medal across 14 winter Olympic sports — the most among all National Olympic Committees
SNOWBOARD – Canada now leads all National Olympic Committees with five Olympic medals in men’s snowboard slopestyle (one gold, one silver, three bronze).
Mark McMorris’ third-straight Olympic bronze in men’s slopestyle has earned him the title of most-decorated Canadian Olympic snowboarder. He is the oldest medallist in the event (28 years, 59 days).
McMorris is the first to win three consecutive bronze medals in the same individual event at the Olympic Winter Games. He is only the third Olympian, winter or summer, to do so.
Max Parrot was crowned Team Canada’s first-ever men’s slopestyle champion. He is the oldest gold medallist in men’s slopestyle snowboarding (27 years, 245 days).
SKI JUMPING – Canada won its first-ever Olympic medal in ski jumping with a bronze in the Olympic debut of the mixed team event. The previous best-ever Canadian result in ski jumping was a 7th place finish by Horst Bulau in the men’s individual large hill event at Calgary 1988.
This is the first Olympic ski jumping medal won by a North American country since Chamonix 1924.
ALPINE SKIING – Jack Crawford’s fourth place finish in men’s downhill alpine skiing is Team Canada’s best-ever result since Ed Podivinsky won bronze at Lillehammer 1994.
SHORT TRACK SPEED SKATING – With a bronze medal in the 500m event, Kim Boutin is just the second Canadian female short track speed skater to earn four Olympic medals following Tania Vicent.
FREESTYLE SKIING – Megan Oldham and Olivia Asselin have qualified to compete in the inaugural women’s big air final.
COVID-19 UPDATE – Currently none of the 495 members of the Team Canada delegation in Beijing are in COVID-19 isolation.
